PARENTS VIEWS ON INCLUSIVE EDUCATION PRACTICES IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Inclusive education is an approach that aims to ensure that students benefit from quality and equal education opportunities, regardless of their disability, diversity, and socioeconomic status. In this research, it was aimed to reveal the expectations of the parents regarding inclusive education and to provide data on the activities that can be done for the development of inclusive education in this context. A case study model was used in the research. The criterion sampling method was used in the determination of the study group of the research. The data were collected by semi-structured interview forms and analyzed by content analysis technique. As a result of the research, 32.50% of the parents stated that "training is given in the support training room", 33.33% of them are "individual education plans are prepared", 28.94% of them are "the school administration acts empathetically", 26.82% stated that "the class teacher acts lovingly", 45.94% stated that "other parents act sensitively", and 24.39% stated that their "friends act acceptingly". While 22.50% of the parents expressed their opinion about the problems "low academic success", 17.30% of the parents expressed their opinion as "Turkish language education should be given to refugee students" regarding the suggestions.
